2020 World Beer Awards

And the awards keep on coming… We’re very proud to announce that we’ve won 7 awards at this years World Beer Awards, including World’s Best American-style Pale Ale!

  • Highland Suntan - United Kingdom’s & World’s Best American-style Pale Ale

  • Kingsway Stout - United Kingdom’s Best Wood Aged

  • Stone The Gose - United Kingdom’s Best Flavoured Sour/Wild

  • I Can’t Believe it’s NOTella - United Kingdom Gold (x2) for Flavoured Stout/Porter, and Chocolate & Coffee

  • Field of Creams - United Kingdom Bronze Cream Ale

It’s always unbelievably humbling to receive awards, but to win such a prestigious honour as World’s Best American-style Pale Ale is truly a moment to pause and savour. I vividly remember designing and brewing the first batches of Highland Suntan on our 20L home-brew kit in my parents house back in 2015. We’ve come a long way since then…

On top of that, we also won UK’s Best Wood Aged beer for Kingsway Stout. We’ve been particularly proud of this beer even before its release earlier in the year. Our barrel ageing project has held a great place in our hearts as a labour of love and this beer came out of bourbon barrels tasting beautifully. So to be awarded for all that effort feels like it was worth the patience.

For the second year running, we’ve won UK’s Best Flavoured Sour, last year for Tart An Typhoon and this year for Stone The Gose. We’ve always loved making sours here at Glen Affric and this collab with Youtube’s RealAle CraftBeer Channel came out of tank tasting so amazing that we knew we had to submit to for awards season.

Not to be forgotten, we also won 2x UK Gold medals for I Can’t Believe it’s NOTella in the Flavoured Stout/Porter, and Chocolate & Coffee Categories and a Bronze medal of Field of Creams in the Cream Ale category.

It’s been a great few days for us here at Glen Affric, having won 9 awards at the Asia Beer Challenge late last week and now these results from the World Beer Awards… it’s all a very humbling experience and a great nod to our hardworking team!

Relax & drink good beer,
